Why I'm not Mad at The Mad Monkey Hostel in Boracay

The Mad Monkey Hostel

It's my first time in Boracay and we stayed at the Mad Monkey Hostel. This hostel is a 3 storey building. When you enter the hostel, 2 swimming pool will welcome you and their friendly staff as well.

When we went to our respective room assignments I was surprised that rooms are spotless and doesn't even look like a hostel or cheap accommodation. It's simple and has comfy bed and ensuite bathroom. The room is equipped with air-con, small table, but no television. I love also the bamboo furniture's in this hostel - it's very relaxing and Asian feel.

Mad Monkey also offers great choices of Breakfast. From American Breakfast to Silog Choices. I have tried all of it and I love it all.

Lets check out some of the pictures taken at the mad monkey hostel.

Reception area.

Private rooms and coed dorm rooms are all available here.

Wooden double deck for dorm rooms

This is good for a family or group of friends, even for backpackers also. Most of their guest here are foreigners.

A filipino Bamboo chair which adds Asian/Filipino vibe at this hostel.

Pool where guests and even non-guest can swim here, given that they have to purchase food and beverage at thei restobar.

Big servings of plated breakfast to fill our tummy.

Why I'm not mad at Mad Monkey Hostel is because it has all the needs and wants of a budget traveler with a feel of hotel ammenities and services.

  2. I have never encountered a hostel with swimming pools before. That is a great add-on and a great value for money option. it's great that non guests can also come and swim there.

  3. Budget hostel with a swimming pool and such a generous breakfast spread. You seem to have done your homework well. The title of the post was a little misleading though...I guess you did it for effect. Borocay is a piece of paradise, I believe...

  7. I'll consider staying in hostels on future trips since more and more of them are offering private rooms for their guests. "Monkey Man" is a Rolling Stones song. I've never heard of Borcay before.

I love hostels, I think they always offer better value for money and the atmosphere is a lot nicer and friendlier than a hotel
